Hot & Dry: Crackling Images of the Present

In summer 2026, I participated in an artist-led cohort funded residency at Empire of Dirt in the Creston valley. This two-week creation and research residency explored the intersection of heat and dryness both literally and metaphorically in the pursuit of an understanding of the relevance of lens-based image-making in torrid times. I created a series of thermal printed photographs and a new poem called loss budget.
